#13 Sharing God’s Word through eCommerce

Ever wondered how an eCommerce store could shine the light of God’s word through beautiful gifts?  Maybe you’re thinking about starting a eCoomerce store and you’re not sure where to start?

In this weeks podcast show SJ interviews Anna from SOURCE.  Anna shares her story of starting her shop and how God provided the way for her beautiful fashion shop.

What is Source?

Source provides a way to engage our culture with the gospel

God is the source of all love, goodness, and hope. Faith in Jesus allows believers to abide in God and tap into these attributes and share the Gospel of Jesus with others.

The gospel is this: Jesus, son of God, lived a perfect, sinless life and was crucified as the ultimate sacrifice. He died, was buried, and three days later rose from the dead. On the cross, Jesus took on all of our wrongdoings, mistakes, and mess-ups. He took those upon himself and in exchange has given us his perfect righteousness. God now sees us as pure and clean as Jesus is. In this is our only real hope. (Romans 5:6-11, 2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 John 4:9-10)

In this new identity, we are eager to share God’s incredible work in our lives because we desire the same experience for others. We are ambassadors of the good news and strive to shine the light of Christ everywhere we go. (Ephesians 5:8, 1 Thessalonians 5:5)

Out of this, Source was created. Source provides a way to engage our culture with the gospel in a fresh, creative way. Your purposeful choice of fashion is a simple way to display truths about our God to the world. We hope that our designs will prompt conversations that give you an opportunity to share Jesus and his finished redemptive work on the cross.

Your top tips for someone thinking about starting a eCommerce store:

  1. Unity on God and on your mission: Soaking in His presence, use your own testimony to help create your business story.
  2. Use a platform that’s easy for you to use: Anna uses Shopify.
  3. Importance of visual content on social media: Stick to your brand colours, plan social media, embrace your colour themes.
  4. Establish what your mission and vision with God: Then you can work out what you say yes to and if they line up with your business mission and ask does it line up with my mission, vision and values.

Bible Verse:

Isaiah 43:19

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
