Her Story
My name is Quennie Atallah and I am a qualified, freelance makeup artist and hair stylist. My business is called Quintessential Hair & Makeup Artistry and I run out of a small home studio in Rouse Hill, NSW. My services include makeup services and hair styling for: * brides/wedding parties * special & formal occasions * themed occasions (fancy dress etc) * fashion, personal and corporate photo shoots, music videos and short films I also perform eyelash treatments such as: * eyelash lifts and tints; and * eyelash extensions, - both classic and Russian Volume I work closely with my clients to come up with a makeup and/or hair styling brief that they are happy and comfortable with. I offer the highest quality of value for money for all my services. My goal is to ensure my client’s are left feeling beautiful, inside and out. I’m a strong believer that it’s always important to enhance the beauty of my canvas’ rather than turn them into someone they don’t recognise – unless that’s what they want of course! I offer obligation free quotes and can tailor packages to any particular needs. I realise and respect that every client is different so I ensure each client receives bespoke treatment regardless of the service they require. I'm currently working on an exciting new project due due to launch in 2018, God willing...
Her Wisdom

If I could start over again, I don't think I would do much different at all.

Every struggle and road block has been a learning experience which has led me be where I am now.

The biggest mind transformation is one that I deal with constantly. It's the belief in myself and my ability. Too often, I allow doubt to creep in and this prevents me from moving forward, receiving and appreciating God's blessings over my business.

For the past few years, I've had it on my heart to start a cosmetic line. I'd never really considered doing this in the past. I prayed about it and proclaimed that I would leave this project in God's amazing hands.

By consciously doing this, within the last 9 months, God has chosen the name of this brand, guided me on things such as the logo and His hand has really been over his project.

It has been personally challenging to just step back and be completely God-led through this process but wow, has it been worth it!

Stay tuned!!

The best advice I could give to anyone starting out is to be mindful to always be humble.

Collaborate with as many people as you can - even if it means you aren't getting paid. You won't have to do this forever but it's a great way to build experience as well as exposure.

Build your network of photographers and others in the industry.

Never pass on the opportunity to learn! From paid training to 'look and learn' workshops, always work on improving your skills! Assist more senior makeup artists if you have the opportunity. On the job training is the best kind of training.

Lastly, believe in yourself!
