I’ve been interested in personal development for a long time. It just made sense to me that to point people to Jesus, I needed to allow His Spirit to be expressed through my behavior. After leaving a position in urban missions, I went back to finish the degree I’d begun many years earlier. Even then it took me a while to finish because along the way my Dad became ill and I helped with his care. Five weeks after he died, I was diagnosed with cancer.
Both of those events slowed me down but finally I graduated. Now I’m an Emotional Intelligence Coach. That means I help people increase their ability to be aware of emotions so they can make wiser decisions. The research on EQ behavior is amazing—showing better relationships, higher productivity, and improved health.
Because life can be too busy and technology can swamp our best intentions to equip our children, I’m also passionate about helping others cultivate EQ skills in children so they are also able to make wise decisions.
